Cynthia Cheloff is a second-year DPhil student at Oxford University, exploring the role and position of Jewish elites within immigration politics in Britain and America during the early 20th century (co-supervised by Abigail Green and Jaclyn Granick).
Cynthia obtained her BA from Brandeis University, where for three years she was a research assistant to Dr. Hannah Weiss Muller, whose research surrounded 18th century immigration rhetoric and politics. She received her MSt in Transnational, Global and Spatial History from the University of St Andrews where she first began exploring the politics of Jewish elites with a thesis entitled "L’Alliance: How Political Antisemitism Changed the Face of Jewish Internationalism”.
