Friederike Schwelle

Friederike is a PhD student at Durham University under the supervision of Dr Tom Stammers and- starting from October 2022-collaborating with the Egypt Exploration Society on ‘Modern Jews and Ancient Egypt: Patrons, Collectors and Scholars in Europe c1880-1950’.

 

She holds a BA from Göttingen University and two MAs from Bonn University. Before starting her PhD she worked for several years as Manager of Restitution and Provenance Research at the Art Loss Register in London, researching art works and collectibles as well as performing due diligence on large collections.
